Ovechkin Suspended 3 Games for hit

Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin has been suspended for three games for a charging incident in which he launched himself to hit Pittsburgh defenseman Zbynek Michalek during Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Penguins.

It is the third time in the past three seasons Ovechkin has been suspended by the league for hits the league deemed dangerous. Ovechkin has also been fined twice.

Are We Head for another Lock Out?

Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman stabbed to death

Dutch police say Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman has been stabbed to death and his brother has been arrested as a suspect.

Rotterdam Police spokeswoman Patricia Wessels says police were called to a home in the Dutch port city early this morning and found Halman bleeding from a stab wound.

The officers attempted unsuccessfully to resuscitate the 24-year-old.

Deep Problems in Washington

This weekend was to be a ho-hummer for college football. If you listened to the talking heads, this weekend�s game would have about as much excitement was though yellow cellophane wrapped crackers you can purchase in a vending machine.
